Curiosity, experimentation, and connection fuel transformation. Come explore our school of inquiry, innovation, and impact to catalyze new questions, fresh insights, and exciting possibilities for your own school and organization.

Join us on campus and experience Mount Vernon with our expert faculty and staff. For over a decade, we have been on a transformational journey of educational excellence and innovation and can empathize with the opportunities and challenges you are navigating.

On this full day of expeditionary professional learning, you will join members of the Mount Vernon team for deeper learning and connect with expert practitioners through two distinct learning experiences:

Each participant will travel with an MV expert on a learning walk, receive information and guidance about respective instructional strategies, and debrief with faculty members during lunch.

Topics will include Inquiry-based Learning; Learner Agency; Design Thinking; Maker and STEM learning; AI and Emerging Technology; Innovative and Flexible Spaces; Personalized and Differentiated Learning; Competency-based Assessment; Belonging, and more.

  • Lower Campus (Grades PS-5): How might we optimize full engagement and facilitate deep learning for our youngest learners? Participants will explore pathways for differentiating, customizing, and personalizing learning experiences and ways that MV faculty make young learners active participants in their learning.
  • Upper Campus (Grades 6-12): How might we give learners greater ownership of their learning and the agency to design a better world? Participants will explore pathways for differentiating, customizing, and personalizing learning experiences and ways that learners apply knowledge to make an impact.
  • Innovation Leadership: How might we implement practices and systems to fuel innovation within PK-12 schools? We’ll share our Mount Vernon School innovation story and highlight elements of our school culture that fuel and sustain innovation including systems for collaborative planning, professional development, implementation of innovative learning models, learning walks, instructional rounds, and faculty professional goals, evaluations, and reflection.
